The opening range is simply a stock's price range during a specified period of time at the beginning of each trading day. Many traders have found that the price range a stock sets during this period affects how it will trade for the rest of the day. HotScans opening range features allow you to view where a stock is in relation to its opening range using a simple graphical format. Like all MarketGauge displays, our unique opening range display allows you to view what is happening to many stocks with a quick glance. The opening range display allows you to see whether a stock is trading in, above or below its opening range. It also shows you whether the stock has traded above or below its opening range before the current time. AND HotScans opening range display highlights when a stock trades above or below its opening range for the first time during the day. These opening range breakouts and breakdowns frequently signal the start of significant price movement.

The Opening Range Display

	Select a timeframe from 5 to 90 minutes from the opening range timeframe selection drop down box. This defines the end of the opening range from 9:30.
	The "Open Range Vol vs Avg." column displays the change between the volume during today's opening range vs. the 30 day average volume for this stock.
	The "% Off High" column shows how far the stock's current price is below its high for the day.
	The opening range pattern column shows a unique pictorial opening range icon of where the stock is currently trading compared to the rest of the day.
	When you hold your mouse over the opening range pattern for a particular stock, this information window pops up for several seconds. This popup displays information about the stock and how it has been performing today.
